Seriously, although our luck this week could have been worse, the issues have been coming in thick and fast! The smallest of things (and the biggest) have been going on this week, and really, since the start of the year when I think about it.
I started the year with the worst bout of gastro i've ever had in my life. Hospital twice. I'm better now, but it wasn't pleasant and resulted in a week of lost wages.
Then we had the fire.
Two days ago, somebody backed into the car we use for the business, damaging the radiator. Insurance will cover it, but it's an inconvenience we didn't need right now.
On the same day, I burned my hand on the 'self lighting' candles on Isabelle's birthday cake, when the paper went up in a nice sparkly ball of flame while lighting another candle on the cake. Minor burn - but painful.
Yesterday, I dropped a heavy toolbox on my foot, ripping half of a toenail off. Not too painful, thankfully.
Plus, we've had pictures fall off walls seemingly at will, the air conditioner decided it didn't want to work for a day, we've had other minor injuries, etc etc etc.
So while ALL of these things could have been much worse, it's added up to be a series of some rather dodgy luck which has made it difficult to stay positive....and i'm hoping at this point the universe just decided to pile all our bad luck into two weeks, and the rest of the year should be smooth sailing!
