The first day of my non-working life (well, not employed by the man doing crazy shift work at night anyway)....and already i'm LOVING IT!
Of course, there's a bit of niggly worry about the fact that we no longer have a safety net and if the business makes no money for the week, neither do we - but already this evening i've discovered so many things that are so much easier when I know that every night from now on is free.
For instance, getting dinner cooked, and not only that, PLANNED for the rest of the week. Making sure Isabelle gets in the bath EVERY night, rather than giving her a lick and a promise in the shower in the morning if she's dirty. The house is already looking cleaner because instead of rushing to do all the stuff I haven't had time to do, I'm only doing the normal nightly things, which leaves me time to pick up all the little bits and pieces that normally get left.
And as for working with hubby all day, every day - to those people who've questioned whether or not we'll cope - I'd ask, why wouldn't you want to spend all day with the man you love? We work great together! Not to mention it's probably the only time of the week we get just to ourselves with no kids.
I'm already planning a sewing evening later on in the week with Dakota, to make a costume she needs in a couple of weeks.
I think we all really needed this.
